Christopher Cornell
Christopher Cornell has followed in his father Chris Cornell’s entertainment footsteps. As an actor, Christopher joined his dad in 2015 for the music video for “Nearly Forgot My Broken Heart”. In 2018, Christopher portrayed his father in the music video for Chris’ song, “When Bad Does Good”. In addition to his acting, Christopher has also begun a modeling career, working with several brands including Off White.
In August of 2020, Christopher and his sister, Toni, launched two national initiatives to address addiction as a way to honor their father and stop the stigma. Recognizing addiction as a disease and a world health issue through education. In partnership with the Addiction Policy Forum and the Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation, they introduced, “STOP THE STIGMA,” an educational pilot program that has been brought to high schools around the country. This peer-to-peer initiative aims to empower young people to tackle the stigma around addiction and to teach teens the science of substance use disorders, prevention and that addiction is a disease and a mental health issue and not a moral flaw. They also launched a podcast that explores how stigma is hampering efforts to combat addiction and what actionable steps can be taken to address this. The first guest was world renowned scientist and Director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse, Dr Nora Volkow.
